With everyone so quick to say negative things these days, I though I
would write to you with my positive feelings about the Scout Guard 550 trail camera.
I will be purchasing another SG550 very soon. I purchased one of these
cameras last spring and it is by far the best trail camera for the
dollar on the market today. I own 3 other brands and it is certainly the
best I own. It has extremely long battery life even in cold weather. I
live in New Brunswick Canada and put the camera out last September.
After many hundreds of pictures I moved it to another parcel of land in
November and I changed the batteries. Not because I needed to, but
because I could not get back to the camera in a reasonable amount of
time and I was afraid the batteries would expire while I was absent.
These batteries lasted until December 23, through very cold temperatures
and thousands of pictures. I installed the 3rd set of batteries and
immediately placed the camera on a common Eagle perch at the farm where
I work and it remained there into February and I got some excellent
pictures of Eagles waiting for dinner.
During spring bear season I took thousands of pictures and video of my
baited guest. I love the video quality and have incorporated it into my
homemade filming of the hunt. If the camera is programmed for the 60
second clip at high quality with a 1 second delay time it will allow you
to capture a quality video of the animal on film from behind the hunt. I
did this while bear hunting and you can even see the hunters stand and
draw the bow in the back ground 20 yards away. It is an excellent
camera and is about the size of a can of Coke in your pocket or pack.
